from small beginnings
Belire Boxers was established in the UK in 1980 when Clifford
and Peter Squires purchased their first Boxer bitch, purely as a
pet. Clifford was persuaded to show her when Sheila Crompton
a Championship Show judge, stopped them both in the street
exclaiming what a wonderful example of a Boxer she was. Toyah,
became our first Crufts qualifier (not bad for a so called pet) and
we never looked back.
Our first of many, Continental excursions
In 1982, we visited Holland and were taken on a visit to many
kennels over there. The Dutch people opened their houses to us
and we began the start of many new friendships. We were
astounded by the beauty of the bloodlines, especially from the
Dommeldal stock where we found our first import.
He was Dutch Import (Urco v Dommeldal at Belire) pictured on
the right at ten weeks old.
Belire Starstrider
Urco v Dommeldal at Belire mated to Toyha, resulted in our first
home bred favourite; Belire Starstrider
The Klostereind Kennels in Holland
Our second import was Dutch Import Mike vt Klostereind at
Belire from the famous and oh so friendly Klostereind kennels in
Holland
Champion Bandelero
On subsequent visits to Holland, we fell in love with a new Champion,
at that time called simply "Bandelero".
we are now based in Spain, this site shares our UK breeding experience
The terrible twins
The owners of Bandelero were keeping two superb Boxers, but allowed us to
purchase them in 1987. Dutch Import Scaramouche At Belire (pictured at 6 months
old), and Belgian Import Kate At Belire (pictured at 18 months old), were both sired
by International, Dutch, Belgian Champion, Atibox Sieger 88, BANDELERO ZVP

Bart
One of our favourite stud dog was our Dutch Import After Delphi Bart With Belire.
Bart was a son of the prolific sire, Kamp Plato vd Hazenberg and was chosen by
Clifford at just five weeks old on a visit in 1992.
American Boxer visit
In 1989 we visited America and every dog we admired turned
out to be the progeny of a certain Champion Turos Dakota of
Shar-Rea. Unfortunately, he had already been exported to Japan,
but a litter was due by one of his sons, Champion KJ's Box-Sin
Rebel of Ruffian. He too was a handsome dog who we had the
pleasure to meet. Belire Chairman of the Board, was the first of
our line to be sired by Rebels son, American Import Ruffians Jazz
Singer at Belire. Chairman is pictured here at five weeks old,. In
later life he went to Holland and almost became a Champion
there before tragically dying young in a road accident.
